At the brilliant suggestion of @snowfist, let’s share our favourite performances or parts of sets that we’ve seen. I’ll go first, with a low-quality video of an outstanding slow version of Blind from 2009:
I’d never heard Jason sing like this before. Building throughout the track to a powerful finale took the song to a new level for me. I wish there was a better recording of this, but glad to have this nonetheless.
These are some fav on top of my mind right now. There are plenty to choose from, even for a song, I have couple of favs.
Anchor
Empty Space
Broken
Broken have so many amazing version to choose from. Picked this one because early Broken live have this emotional, raw energy that newer ones don’t match
I Want You to Know. The version I expected to listen when I first click play on WWA (Deluxe Version)
Arguably the best live version of this song
Bonus one:
Personally, I like this version better than Switchfoot’s
Oh these are good. I knew all of them immediately except for those versions of Broken and Everything. Man did that Everything hit haha. I see why you picked that particular performance. He was in another realm there. Ben’s guitar was fantastic, and I liked how Jason got the pick and switched to strumming prior to the big finale.
His cover of DYTM is one of my all-time favourites. I loved the band’s cover of Somewhere Only We Know too, from 2005:
I’m a sucker for acoustic songs, so this is my all-time favourite performance by Lifehouse:
Jason’s vocals were particularly top notch, Bryce’s bgvs were perfect, Ben on acoustic really added tasteful flair and Ricky’s drums sound amazing. The mix was outstanding, even the visuals, and I ripped this version of Somewhere in Between to my iTunes library in 2009 where it’s become my most-listened to track. I’m so grateful this made it to the internet:)
BLNT wasn’t always one of my favourites, but this performance changed that for me:
This live in studio version of Yesterday’s Son is so inspired, it feels to me like a Blyss song in a lot of ways and Winnie on the accordion just gave it something special. I like it almost as much as the perfect album cut.
I always liked this acoustic version of TMA, in the style of the album and sped up compared to the studio acoustic one. That one’s my favourite for sure, but this take is right up there for me:
And finally for today, the best recording of the famous Only One jump:
Yes, absolutely love SOWK performance. It stays true to the song but at the same still sound ‘Lifehouse’ and fresh.
Oh I absolutely adore that live in-studio of Yesterday’s Son. I even thought they should’ve add that version to OOTW deluxe album or something.
I too like that Extra Lounge version of TMA. But I’ve to say the Carson Daly’s version is my no1 fav of TMA. Mostly because of how he sung the chorus. Don’t think there’s any other time he sings it that way.
How can one not love this? Absolute perfection live performance of Come Back Down.
An oldie but a goodie. Enjoy!
Storm just like Broken have great versions across YouTube but this is my pick for today
Except for that tiny part of dubbed sponsored message, this SIB performance is just amazing.
